One of most important issue facing the Borough today is School funding. "Full funding" as defined by the State and the Borough needs to be inline with each other and meet the needs of the growing school district. Sites must be found, and plans made for new schools to stay ahead of this growth.

     Schools are one of the most important services the Borough provides. Schools are extremely important to me, as my children are the most important people in the world to me. All parents that I know feel the same about their children too. My children have been attending schools in the Valley since 1986.

     This is not a chicken and egg story. There must be parents before there are students and there must be students before there are teachers. The needs of all three must be considered in the schools. Education provided by the public schools is a service. Teachers in the classroom provide that service. Therefore, what goes on in the classroom is the most important part of this equation. Everything else in the school district should focus on and support the teachers, the students, and the curriculum.

     If elected, I will do every thing I can to encourage the school district to treat the teachers with more respect and pay them better. Let’s get the problems fixed and get more money to the teachers, newer and better books, and safer and better classrooms.

     I very much support “home schooling, charter schools, vocational schools, and vouchers”. I believe studies have shown that “the more choices parents have in their children’s education, the better the education”. With more choices, everyone wins. The students get a better education, the teachers in public schools are treated better and given more support from the administration, and the taxpayer gets better value for their hard-earned money.
