- I graduated on May 10, 2002 from Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) in Seward, AK. Information Technology program http://www.eed.state.ak.us/AVTEC/PCLan.htm Part of the curriculum was to work as an unpaid intern on computers and computer networking equipment on Monday of each week. For three months I worked at Alaska Regional Hospital and three weeks at Enstar Gas Company in Anchorage. The rest of the Mondays I worked on the computers and networks at AVTEC in Seward. For one of the many projects, I installed an IEEE 802.11b wireless network in the student dorms.
- Completed over 20 different courses related to job safety required by the North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC)---taught by various agencies including UAA. These included: HAZWOPER first responder, HAZCOM, basic fire fighting, blood borne pathogens, H2S escape and rescue, lockout/tagout and working in an ecologically sensitive arctic environment
- Completed a course on high power variable speed drive control systems by Ross-Hill Controls of Houston, Texas (11-89) This included AC generator control systems, generator load sharing and synchronization, power factor correctors, harmonic filters, DC bridge drives, AC variable frequency drives, and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD).
- Participate in continuing education by attending NEC upgrade classes taught by Ron Garrett, State Electrical Inspector, every 2 years
- Graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, AZ, with 2 years college/trade school level electronics and electrical training with advanced math courses-calculus, trig, and physics
